Connected-vehicle traffic

A simulation framework for exploring local coordination.

Connected-vehicle traffic coordination

A corridor-level microsimulation that mixes human-driven and connected vehicles. I use it to study how guidance based on local information changes traffic flow when only some vehicles take part.

Status: simulation and metrics built. No results yet.

Schematic of a mixed traffic corridor Two lanes of vehicles travelling left to right. Connected vehicles are filled; human-driven vehicles are outlines. Dotted arcs suggest local information sharing between nearby connected vehicles. No parameters or results are encoded.
Schematic only.
What it measures

The share of connected vehicles can be varied, including partial adoption. I track throughput, travel time, stops and hard braking separately at each participation level. A change that raises throughput can also add stops or hard braking, so I report them side by side.
